Stress Levels sometimes play a part in people’s lack of well being. Learning to reduce stress and better manage problematic areas of life can for some, make a huge difference. Increased awareness of stress and therefore earlier intervention is,in such cases, very useful in managing stress related symptoms.
Qi Gong is a Chinese exercise tradition which uses posture (slow moving or stationary) together with mental focus. It can reduce muscle tension and discomfort as well as stress levels. People can practice simple exercises to bring about a reduction in discomfort/stress.
Posture changes throughout life and bad posture develops from environmental factors, habits and trauma. Also, sitting at desks and using computers can a bring our bodies out of alignment. For some people this must be addressed.
The Holistic Medical Model takes a good look at factors that may contribute to somebody’s health problem.
Sometimes in order to get healthier a more balanced lifestyle may be necessary. Here are a few examples of such factors or tools that can be used.
Diet/Fluid Intake A better balance in food and fluid intake can make an enormous difference in somebody’s well being and/or energy levels.
Even relatively minor adjustments can have a good impact.
Environment or Climate Factors can play a significant part in somebody’s lack of recovery. E.g. exposure to cold or damp in the living or working environment can have a detrimental effect on a cold or damp condition (e.g an arthritic knee) and this may need to be addressed needs addressed.
